Static Front Page Not Working

I cannot update the static front page of my website. I am able to select a new page in Appearance / Customise / Home Page Settings or the Reading settings, but the old home page (which has been deleted from my pages) still shows as the Home page.

In Appearance / About Best Business / Recommended Actions it also constantly says “Select A static page then Front page and Posts page to display front page specific sections. Note: Static page will be set automatically when you import demo content.” However, when I click through and select a static page, the action never goes away.

Can you please help me to resolve this – it is driving me crazy

Hi Simunday,

Try to delete old home page from trash of your site and reassign new home page.

If you are using any cache plugin, please clear cache and try once.

Thanks for the reply – I have deleted the page. It will only let me build the front page in “Appearance / Customize / Widgets / Front Page Widgets”. Is there any way to just have a static page from the pages section as the front page of the site – it’s annoying to have to build it using front page widgets…

Hi Simunday,

You need to assign a page as frontpage if you wish to make site looks like the demo. This is Widget based theme so you need to add widgets to make it like a demo of the theme.

Or you can display the latest posts if you do not like to select a static home page.
