Our Services Page Block Widget not showing excerpt with WP Bakery

I started using WP Bakery for my page layouts but that removes the excerpts on my many page widget. I’m guessing it is because every WP Bakery column starts with [vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text] instead of <span style…
What CSS should I use to fix that problem?

Hi @Monica,

WP Bakery inserts shortcodes to the content. But our theme strip off shortcode in the widget used for services and similar widget. That is why the excerpts are removed on widgets.

You can use WP Bakery widget/element to ignore this problem. For Ex: If you need to display services, you can add container of WP Bakery with 3 rows and add required elements.

Thank you for the prompt reply. I’m not sure where to make major changes to this theme’s homepage. WP Bakery doesn’t work on the frontend of this page and if I go to the backend the homepage is completely blank. Right now the only option I have is through the themes “customize” option and that only lets me insert widgets. I haven’t been able to find a current widget that would allow me to have columns. Is there a way to add custom text to the BB: Page Blocks Widget? Then I could write my own excerpt for each page.

Hi @Monica,

You can create new page (like other normal pages) and add WP Bakery elements there. Once it is ready, you can assign it as home page. We are sorry, there is no way to add custom text to the BB: Page Blocks Widget.
