Hello,
I want to edit the php files of my child theme from within the WordPress Editor but the option does not show up in the Appearance Menu at all.
How can I get that enabled, please?Thanks for your help.
Theme does not disable that menu from itself. Most probably your one of security plugin has disabled it. Please check through the settings of that security plugin.

I have found that the Editor was on a different section of the site because it is a multisite WP instance.
